wings or more, fitness is often overlooked by paddlers.

We can offer the following sessions:
 

Get Strong

Strength: The amount of total force you are able to generate.

Power: The ability to generate force quickly.

Conditioning: Training your body to a state of good health and fitness for specific movements and activities.

 

These aspects are often overlooked by paddlers. Incorporating these sessions around your paddling (especially in the winter months) will allow you to stay in that tide race for longer, power over eddylines, get extra reach on your boofs, improve balance (through mind-muscle connections) be able to power off from a standing start, help with confidence in rescues and many more benefits.

There is no minimum but but we recommend a series of 4 sessions followed by an on-the-water session to see how you've progressed. We can also provide programming if you wish to carry on on your own.

Get Flexy

Often confused for the same term, mobility and flexibility will also help unlock confidence on the water.

​

Flexibility: the range of motion that your body can acheive.

Mobility: Your body's ability to deal with load in these extreme ranges of motion.

​

We can improve these in our sessions, allowing you to remain injury free, get extra reach on your roll, stern rudder without stiffening up, have solid 180 degree sweep strokes, get into positions required for playing on the river, easier cross-decking and improving general confidence on the water. These sessions are designed to teach how how to look after yourself, there is no minimum but but we recommend a series of 2 sessions followed by an on-the-water session to see how you've progressed.

On-the-Water
Sessions

These sessions can include:

​

  • Fitness sessions, push yourself and develop an efficient paddling technique.

​

  • Put into practice everything you have learned in your gym-based sessions.

​

What might a fitness session look like?

  • Targeted warm up.

  • Technique discussion.

  • Light cardio-vascular work.

  • Interval training.

  • Cool down.

1 hour session: £40

1hr30 session: £50

2 hour session: £60

1-4 People. Multi discount available.

Location: Weather dependant.

There is no minimum but but we recommend a series of 4 sessions over 2 weeks to see best results. We can also provide programming only if you wish to carry on on your own.

Own equipment required. A kit list and what to bring will be provided.

Get Paddle Fit

This is a combined and personalised fitness programme for paddlers, completely designed around you. Following an initial consult and optional taster session with us, we'll put together a combination of sessions to get you where you want to be. The programme includes:

  • No commitment prior to taster session.

  • Mix of gym and on-the-water sessions.

  • Personalised programming (for training in your own time).​

Shoreside (in the gym):

  • Initial consult and taster session.

  • Strength training.

  • Power development.

  • General conditioning and CV.

  • Mobility, flexibility and recovery.​

On the water:

  • Targeted warming up

  • Developing efficient paddling strokes.

  • On the water fitness sessions.

  • Putting it all into practice/applied skills.

4+ weeks

£35 per session

OR Book 6 sessions for £180

Consult: 15 mins/Free

Taster (optional): 30 mins/£15

Location: Amlwch and Anglesey

Sessions will be split between the gym and on-the-water. After the taster session there is a minimum 4 session booking.  Programming only options are available for if you want to carry on individually.
