Weekend Courses

Over the course of the weekend, we will teach you how to develop yourself over the off-season, train on the water, build a fitness programme, perform different exercises and look after your body in every day life, as well as on the water.

The weekend includes gym-based and water-based sessions. focusing on:

Strength: The amount of total force you are able to generate.

Power: The ability to generate force quickly.

Conditioning: Training your body to a state of good health and fitness for specific movements and activities.

Flexibility: The range of motion that your body can achieve.

Mobility: Your body's ability to deal with load in these extreme ranges of motion.

Efficiency: Maximise paddling output whilst minimising effort.

Nutrition: What fuels your body.

These aspects are often overlooked by paddlers. Incorporating what you learn on this weekend (especially in the winter months) will allow you to stay in that tide race for longer, munch up miles on expeditions, power over eddylines, get extra reach on your boofs, improve balance (through mind-muscle connections) be able to power off from a standing start, help with confidence in rescues and many more benefits. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
